To get here I had to trudge through the yuck and muck of life’s hard times. The roses and daisies I exude in my smiles were crafted intentionally out of the dark rocky soil of trials and troubles. It’s SO COOL to be free, knowing that even if the world isn’t great, I can choose to be happy and at peace, linking arms with our Savior! All the things I’ve learned have grown into easy life principles that I feel deeply blessed to share with you…so you can walk the short-cut, gem-strewn path to your life of joy…so that you, too, can bloom in your dark rocky soil.

And though I’ve always been a positive girl…
I went forward from there through a few more yucks and learned to really LIVE life with the determination to create JOY all along the way…

My Journey with Jesus Christ
My relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ is first and foremost in my life.
I always knew God loved me and when I finally allowed His love to grow and flow through me, that I was able to serve others at higher levels, so that they might realize their full potential… live and walk in their divine true colors.
This life is about being our best selves, serving those around us and linking arms to return to our loving Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.

I grew up going to church and learning from the Bible, with all the vivid stories, poems… the scriptures about how to be a better person, how to change for the better… to live a Christ-like life and to really follow Him. I knew there was a God and that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to Atone for my sins and to show us how to live, so that we might return to live with Him someday.
When I was 23, I was invited to go to church at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was introduced to the Book of Mormon, another Testament of Jesus Christ. It seemed so very familiar, as the teachings were perfectly aligned with what I grew up with and it made complete sense to me that inspired prophets from all over the world would take their scriptures with them of old (scrolls or tablets) and travel to other lands and that God would communicate with them, just as He did with those whose writings were collected to be in the Bible. I’d heard of the Dead Sea Scrolls and it just ‘made sense’…
What was most important to me over all was that the Missionaries that met with me didn’t push or insist that I ‘convert’ – but that I was to pray and find out for myself. So I did… I prayed fervently about what I was reading and found this to be a beautiful companion book of sacred scripture all aligned to testify of Jesus Christ and to teach us how to be better people in our day-to-day lives, that we might return to live with him.

So to recap: the Bible is a sacred book of scripture that covers more than 1,000 years and consists of the Old Testament back to the days of the first people on earth, Adam & Eve. The New Testament starts with the birth of Jesus Christ and covers his ministry and that of his Apostles. Meanwhile – another sacred record is being kept that also covers about 1,000 years by the people who came from Jerusalem over to the Americas and it was compiled by the prophet Mormon and his son, Moroni, so is called The Book of Mormon. This is also a sacred record that testifies of Jesus Christ and covers his teachings and ministry as he visited the people on this continent.
After much study of the ‘new’ book, my prayer was answered, and I was baptized on December 26, 1988. After about a year, my Heavenly Father (God) let me know that I was to serve as a full-time Missionary. This was NOT in my plans, nor on my radar, but I had solid, Heavenly direction, so for 18 months, left my Arizona home and became a Missionary to teach about Jesus Christ and to give out free copies of the Book of Mormon as well. This service was one of the highlights of my life’s journey and I learned invaluable life-lessons all along the way. My faith in following the promptings of the Holy Spirit and seeking direction was strengthened 10-fold as was the love for my Savior, Jesus Christ, as I earnestly sought to follow His example to be His representative during my Mission. It was a beautiful blessing to give myself completely (and imperfectly) during those years.
Fast forward several decades, intense study, multiple spiritual experiences and sacred answers to prayer and I can say solidly that I ‘know’ that the Book of Mormon is an inspired and true book of scripture, and used along with the Bible, one can grow so much closer to God and live the life we were meant to live… with joy. So I extend the same beautiful opportunity to you, to find out for yourself, to learn more, to study, attend church and to grow your relationship with your Savior, Jesus Christ. My favorite prophet in the Book of Mormon is the last prophet to write in this record and at the end of his writings, he shares his testimony as found in this excerpt from Moroni 10:30-32, “I would exhort you that ye would come unto Christ, and lay hold upon every good gift… awake and arise from the dust… Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God…”
