Joy

This is my handsome 17-year-old son on the right and me on the right during one of my hospital stays in 2011. I couldn’t even get him to sew on a button, but when I had cancer, he made this quilt for me. I have cherished it since that day. In fact, I have used in each and every one of the dozens of hospital visits since.

“Hi, My name is Betsy and I had Cancer…”

Pretty much that has been one of the first things people would learn about me… and wow – what a doozy of a journey! Four years ago I posted: “Hangin’ at the Drs office relaxing getting monthly chemo treatment #2 of 4. Glad to be snuggled under the awesome quilt Evan made me!!! I have the most awesome son of all the ages!” —- Wow – I remember how horrible I felt from treatment #1 – so this was a pretty darn uplifting post and counting my blessings – which were wrapped up mostly in my son throughout that time.. That treatment was so severe, that they had to reduce it by 25% for the remaining chemo treatments. Well – from my journey of being extremely bed-bound through my cancerous days four years ago and almost dying not 1, but 2, 3, 4 times and having 23 (or was it 24?) procedures… to NOW – feeling amazing! Wow, just wow… my life rocks! It’s all come together – and to top it off – I found a healthier way to supply my body with what it needs… my energy and my wellness is off the charts in a healthy, non-addictive way… I’m UBER-BLESSED in the ‘now’ of my life! I no longer am the cancer-girl, but one that has moved on from Survivor to Thriver! Because Good Happens! <3

I gathered a few stories from my fun ColostoMy Joy journey into an eBook. It’s called From Pain to Freedom – Breaking the Chains of Pain and Shame to Live Your True Colors Life. It’s real, raw, funny, and takes you through a snippit of my journey into Living a life of Freedom… into Joy. Click to download your copy.
