Life is a Barter System… Make it a Good One!
As I prepare for an upcoming presentation, I found this entry from the thick of it in May of 2012…
The thick part was, well.. like strong smelly tar starting to cool…
Chemo was super harsh on my body…
So after the extreme effects from just my first round… The dosage was reduced by 25% the following rounds…
I was weak and beyond yuck in so many ways and mostly in bed …
I posted random updates, but want up to journalling… I slept a lot during those many months… I was super weak…
My sweet sisters from church had sign up forms entitled “Betsy’s Brigade”,
where someone would stop by every day
to help, support, lift, visit, serve and ‘be’ with me…
Such a beautiful gift of time!
These dear women truly gave from their hearts.
Everyone Has Some Form of Cancer in Their Life.
During that yuck… I wrote the following:
“Everyone has some form of cancer in their lives. Whether it be loss of a loved one,
fighting an addiction,
overcoming emotional heartbreak
or other battles…
we all go through our own cancer.
It may not be apparent to others,
but it’s important we treat each other with kindness and charity.
We must seek out opportunities to
stop wallowing in the mirror
and focus our attention to helping others.
May we Be The Good Happening in this beautiful bartering system called life.
Our life here on this earth is a barter system –
emotional,
physical
and spiritual.
When we’re strong
we give of our strength
and we also need to receive.
It’s the way life is…
In all aspects.
We each are the helping hands
sent by a loving Heavenly Father
to give, share and support one another.
So may we Be The Good Happening in this beautiful bartering system called life.
Because Good Happens.”
And may we also live life with an exclamation point!
Counting Blessings and sending out huge love!
May you ever live in JOY with LOVE… SOLID.
Much Love,
Betsy
(I’m headed out livin’ life with an exclamation point!)
